Amarr Garage Doors

Amarr was founded in 1951 and has been growing steadily ever since. From the humble beginnings of a small building near downtown Winston-Salem, NC, Amarr has grown into the fourth largest manufacturer of garage doors in the United States. Amarr started out making wooden doors and in 1979 started producing overhead, sectional steel doors. Amarr now has a 250,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in Lawrence, KS and produces carriage house style wooden doors at a facility in Monterrey, Mexico. Amarr has 60 company-owned distribution centers and thousands of dealers throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and many other foreign countries.

Amarr produces three different distinct lines of carriage house doors for the upscale housing market. Amarr was the first garage door company to license a door when it introduced the Bob TimberlakeTM Collection in 2000. This collection features five different models created by the designers with Bob Timberlake's staff and recreate the southern charm that Timberlake is known for. Amarr introduced a second licensed door in 2003 with the Biltmore Estate For Your Home Carriage House Collection. The six models of this collection are designed after actual doors and other architectural elements of the world-famous Biltmore Estate, the country's largest privately-owned home. The final collection, the Amarr By Design Collection, features 10 popular models, but a homeowner or builder can submit their own design. All Amarr carriage house doors are made by hand, using modern techniques to ensure the finest of quality. All the doors are made with two layers of wood and utilize western red cedar, known for its resistance to warping and cracking, as the overlay wood. These two layers of wood are then attached to a 2" commercial steel door for extra durability and stability.
